Huepar LM120A - 120M Laser Distance Meter

I had very high expectations for this laser measure but regrettably it has fallen well short, after using Hilti laser measures for over 10 years I was hoping this would be the ideal device to replace it.

Unfortunately after a few weeks of use on various building sites and outdoor locations I have found this measure to be next to useless for measuring openings beyond 5 metres.

This morning I attended a meeting to take final working sizes for a project I'm managing to replace facades to a retail building, it was an overcast / dull day (perfect for laser measuring) the battery was fully charged, I attempted to measure the width of the opening but the laser dot was so faint it was impossible to see on the other end of the 7 METRE opening, in the end I had to use my old Hilti PD5 (which is rated to just 70 metres) which has a much brighter dot, and makes me question the true capability of this Huepar LM120A.

For the above reasons I cannot recommend this product and suspect the manufacturer is being dishonest about the true distance this product can measure, if the sun is out then I suspect the true distance this device can measure will be further reduced.

I had ordered a laser distance measure that was around 5mm out of tolerance. Messaged Huepar and they just sent me a replacement there and then. No need to send the faulty one back first or anything like that. Ideal.

Seem ok up to now

Perfect, very accurate

Consistently comparable results with a Leica Disto X4 for a great deal less outlay. I also use a Huepar laser level with plumb dot and it’s just as good as a £1000 Hilti!
